Here’s a little card that I whipped up for my friend Jenny. She is truly a wonderful lady and a most kind and caring friend, always thinking of everyone but herself.

Card used was Old Olive, Whisper White and Pixie Pink and the inks were Old Olive and Pixie Pink. Stamp set was Wonderful Favourites … the bargain price set for this year only … $39.95 … contact me if you want one! Accessories used were the Photo Corner Punch, Flower from Pretties Kit coloured using sponge daubers and Stampin Pastels and a pin from Spotlight and the ribbon .. I have no idea where I bought it from. I got the idea for the flower from this website ….. http://twisted-chick.blogspot.com/ . How cute is it??
I also used my brand new Scor-Pal to emboss the frame around the Old Olive card and of course my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder.

Stamp Sets were Scribble This and Wonderful Favourites … a sensational price this year! Cardstock is Old Olive and Whisper White. Inks used were Really Rust, Old Olive and Whisper White. Old Olive 5/8″ Grosgrain and White Embossing Powder.
A very easy and quick card to make.

We have a lovely neighbour, Jenny, and tomorrow is her daughter Kate’s 18th birthday.
If you remember I made Kate’s 18th invitations a while back. This morning I have been sitting here making her card. I have to tell you it is a case of a card made by my friend Francie. Of course I have made a couple of changes … colour for one and I added some ribbon and glitter.

As you can see I’ve used the Birthday Cuttlebug folder and my nestabilities again … as my friend Kerrie would say …. I’m lovin’ them
Oh and I used my Around the Block Paper Tagger to attach the tag … a very cool tool indeed!
Chelsea thought it looked too babyish so I added a darker teal colour to liven it up a bit! The colours are totally different to the invitation but I like them. Hope Kate likes it!

I received a card in the mail today and I would like to share it with you all.
It was sent to me by Karen a fellow SU demonstrator who lives in Mackay. I helped her out with a little something and in return she sent me this gorgeous card.

I know it’s a bit hard to see but have a close look at the centres of the flowers …. isn’t this a fabulous idea. Karen has used the Crop-a-dile to emboss the centres and create a faux brad effect … what a clever girl!
It’s not very often I receive a card in the mail, it made me feel a little bit special. Thank you Karen, I love it and it was my pleasure to help you out.
Hugs to you

Here is a complete card made without using SU products .. ok I lie … I used Basic Grey card.
I just loved Heidi Swapp’s Chandelier when I first saw it and then a friend gave me an idea re the lights on it and here is my creation!

I love the colours on this card and if anyone else likes it … then I’m happy to take orders
The Turquoise card is from the new Core’dinations range. I have run it through my Spellbinder Wizard using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The other stamp is from Hero Arts .. my second favourite stamp company. I stamped the Chandelier using Versamark onto the Basic Grey card and then clear embossed it. I added Swarovski Crystals to the image with a little turquoise ribbon. The crystals look so much better in reality, the photo doesn’t do them justice.
I also used the Rectangle Nestabilities from Spellbinders … I so love these dies and have just ordered the Long Rectangles (adding to my collection) … seriously if you don’t have them … then you really do need them … they work in the Cuttlebug as well! Ooh and they are now available in Australia.
Cheers

Have you ever reached a birthday you don’t really want to acknowledge??? Well here’s a card for a man in your life who may not want to know about this BIG birthday.

Stamps used were Jumbo Outline Alphabet and Rough Texture Wheel. Cardstock colours are River Rock Whisper White, Basic Black and Brocade Blue. Ink colours are River Rock and Basic Black. Accessories I used were the Cuttlebug to punch out the numbers and squares .. Oh and I also used 6mm Square Punch and the Cropadile to set the eyelets. The ribbon is River Rock Double Stitched Grosgrain and the Jumbo eyelets are Antique Brass. Finally … I used a Versamark Pen to shade the letters but didn’t shade where the letters overlapped, a little technique I saw somewhere on Splitcoast.
Hope you like.

I just wanted to share our night out last night with you all.
Chelsea and I went along to see Michael Buble. Now I’ve loved this guy and his voice since I first heard it quite a few years ago before he was famous. The concert was just fabulous. He was so entertaining and chatty and very intimate with the audience even got down from the stage to meet one family and let everyone take his photo. One lucky lady managed to a hug and also a good double handed grip on his butt …. like I said …. lucky lady
He also thanked Brisbane for playing a big role in boosting his career and he did a fabulous slideshow dedicated to Brisbane while he sang ….. “HOME”.
My only regret, besides not having tickets to his second concert tonight, is that I didn’t take my better Canon S2IS camera as I would have got some much better shots. But these will have to do.

He was absolutely fantastic, gorgeous to look at and so very funny and his voice ….. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh ……… it was like ………… mmmmmmmmm …………….. melted chocolate ………… I know it sounds corny but it was! If I had music on my blog you would be listening to him right now as you read this. Can’t wait till he comes to Brisbane again … I will definitely be there. AND … can I tell you … Chelsea said … and this is the truth …. “He was better then Justin Timberlake”!!!
Maybe I’ll post another card a bit later on today, when I’ve come down from the clouds. Check back later.

Yesterday I borrowed a couple of stamps sets from my friend Venessa to have a bit of a play with. Last night I decided that I might join the colour inspiration challenge posted by Kristina over on www.kwernernerdesign.com. I’ve admired the challenges for some time now so I thought it was time that I had a go myself.

Don’t you love her choice of colour. I also love the photos that Kristina finds, they are so gorgeous. So here’s my design now ….

and here’s a closeup …

I have done some before but this was for a workshop that I did the other night and Ronda didn’t want me to do cards she wanted a scrapbook page so here’s a piccie of my layout.

Now for a couple of close ups!!!

I picked the photos after I had chosen the colours and it was very flukey as I found the perfect photos to go with the layout.
Stamp set used wasTotally Tabs and the So Swirly wheel. Cardstock colours are Creamy Caramel, Brilliant Blue, Ruby Red and Very Vanilla. I used Versamark and Ruby Red inks and the Caramel Gingham ribbon. Then I think I pretty much used most of the SU punches …. hahahaha … well almost! We used the Scallop Circle, 1.3/8″, 1.1/4″ and 1″ Circles, Photo Corner and Tab Punches.
The girls had fun doing the layout and they certainly punched up a storm.
